Who This Seminar Is For
This seminar is only for people who already hold a Private Pilot Licence or are currently completing their PPL and are considering continuing into CPL training.
It is designed for students who want practical information before making a decision about commercial flight training and a professional aviation career.
This is not a career fair or recruitment event. Companies will not be attending to collect résumés or conduct interviews. The purpose is to provide realistic industry information and answer questions from prospective CPL students.
What Is the Difference Between a PPL and a CPL?
A Private Pilot Licence allows you to fly for personal and recreational purposes, but it does not generally allow you to work as a pilot for compensation.
A Commercial Pilot Licence allows you to pursue paid flying opportunities, subject to the applicable licensing, medical, experience, and operational requirements.
CPL training also places greater emphasis on professional-level flying skills, accuracy, decision-making, flight planning, aircraft handling, and preparation for employment in the aviation industry.
The CPL is not a guarantee of immediate employment. It is the professional licence that allows a pilot to begin pursuing entry-level aviation opportunities and building the experience required for future positions.
Learn From an Experienced Aviation Professional
The seminar will be led by Mark Gibbons, Chief Flight Instructor at Executive Compass Flight Institute.
Mark is a Class 1 Flight Instructor with decades of experience in the general aviation industry. He will provide a practical and honest perspective on CPL training, employment pathways, career development, and the realities of working as a professional pilot.
Rather than focusing only on how to obtain the licence, the seminar will help attendees understand what may come after CPL training and what qualities are important for long-term success in aviation.

The seminar is expected to take approximately 60 to 90 minutes, although it may run longer depending on the number of questions.
