Night Rating
Are you looking to fly at Night?
The night rating program trains a holder of a Private Pilot Licence to fly safely and legally at night. The night rating is also a part of the CPL program and can be added to the PPL licence as an endorsement.
Night Rating Admission Requirements
Candidates must be 17 years of age for issuance of night rating
A Category 1 or 3 medical certificate
A valid Private Pilot Licence
Night Rating Program Requirements
Minimum 20 hours of flight required by Transport Canada (5 hours are credited from PPL instrument training)
Dual Training: 5 hours (minimum)
Solo Training: 5 hours (minimum)
Dual Instrument Training: 5 hours
Completion of a qualifying flight adhering to the Flight Instructor’s guide under Transport Canada
Night Rating Cost
The estimated cost of obtaining a Night Rating ranges from $4,745 to $5,345, based on the minimum requirements set by Transport Canada.
