Building on your multi engine skills, our Multi Engine IFR training focuses on navigating with precision under Instrument Flight Rules.

This course is essential for pilots aiming to fly in diverse weather conditions and at times of reduced visibility. You will gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in flight planning, instrument navigation, and IFR emergency procedures, all under the guidance of our experienced instructors.

Training in the Piper Seneca 2 and our Alsim 250 ensures that you benefit from reliability and versatility. Our goal is to equip you with the skills and confidence to pilot multi-engine aircraft efficiently, safely, and in Instrument Flight Conditions (IMC).


Multi Engine Rating Requirements

  • A valid Private Pilot’s Licence or Commercial Pilot’s Licence

  • A Category 1 or 3 medical certificate

    Multi Engine Instrument Rating Program Requirements

    • A total of 50 hours PIC Cross Country time is required for your IFR Flight Test (we suggest that this is completed before the intense Multi IFR Program)

    • A minimum of 40 hours of instrument time, of which up to 20 hours may be in an approved simulator, is required for your IFR Flight Test

    • Completion of our Online IFR Ground School and our Exam Prep Course (min 2 people per course)

    • Successfully pass the Transport Canada written exam (INRAT) (20 hours of Instrument time is required to write the exam)

    • Successfully pass the Transport Canada flight test
