Why fly with ECFI – Lorne
10 January 2024Crafting Exceptional Student Experiences at Executive Compass Flight Institute
8 February 2024Many students here at Executive Compass Flight Institute (ECFI) have the goal of flying for the airlines. Those who undertake their Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training look to continue their training with the Flight Instructor Rating. With the support and guidance of ECFI’s experienced Instructors, along with their fleet of well-maintained aircraft, the Flight Instructor Rating sets them on the path towards achieving their flying dreams! One of our current Instructor Rating Students, Steve, has the following advice.
Whether you are looking to build up to 500 hours or 1500 hours to apply for your first airline job, the Flight Instructor Rating is by far, the most cost-efficient way of building these hours. However, most students would agree when I say the Flight Instructor Rating is the hardest rating anyone can do during their training. Knowing what to do to pass the PPL and CPL flight tests and being able to verbalize what you know step by step to teach a student takes a significant amount of work. However, everyone completing the course will confidently say that the Flight Instructor Rating fills a lot of gaps in knowledge and makes us better pilots, as well as enabling us to give back to the next generation of pilots by providing quality flight instruction.
While many Flight Instructors will agree that the instructing job is not always financially rewarding and many CPL pilots stay away from instructing due to financial reasons, I can dare to say that while Instructing, pilots can build the required PIC mentality airlines are looking for. This is something that money can’t buy anywhere else!
In conclusion, I strongly recommend any CPL pilots with dreams of flying in the airline industry pursue the Flight Instructor Rating with Executive Compass Flight Institute. There are many benefits they can achieve, which can be a good foundation block for airline careers; look long-term and consider it as an investment in your aviation career. Let Executive Compass support you in achieving your pilot dreams!
